Swimming Tip # 1 - Goggles!
The first swimming tip would be wearing goggles for swimming is extremely important and you should make sure you and your children are wearing them before going into the pool. It is difficult to keep them on In the begging but after a while you will get used to having them on. To make the process faster, wear your goggles for at least an hour every day without taking them off or fidgeting with them.
Swimming Tip # 2 - Purchase Fins!
Don’t worry, you will only feel silly wearing fins, not look funny. Fins are extremely helpful tools which help you build flexibility in your ankles, very important for swimming. Not only that, but fins will also help you overcome your cross over kick (if you have one). Wearing fins while swimming will help you kick efficiently without accidently without crossing one foot over the other.
Swimming Tip # 3 - Never Swim Alone!
Swimming alone is extremely dangerous and this should be avoided at all costs. Swimming, as fun as it is can also be equally dangerous and therefore is not a sport that should be enjoyed alone. While swimming anything can happen, the most dangerous thing that can happen is that you start feeling painful cramps which is a very common cause of drowning. Therefore it is advised to always go swimming with a buddy and always stay within reach of people and lifeguards.
Swimming Tip # 4 - Avoid Alcohol.
Avoid drinking alcohol before going for a swim, even if you promised just to have a few sips. The risk is not worth it. Alcohol can impair all your judgments, coordination and balance. Alcohol also manages to reduce your body’s ability to stay warm and impairs your diving, and swimming skills.
Swimming Tip # 5 - Stretch!
Before diving into the pool, take a few minutes to fully stretch yourselves. Don’t be in too much of a hurry. By stretching out all your muscles you are preparing your body and muscles you are making your muscles more agile and flexible. This will help you be more comfortable while swimming and will help you build stamina and endurance.
Swimming Tip # 6 - Know Yourself
Swimming may be a fun exercise but it is also a very tiring and exhausting one. Always pay attention to the signs of your body and the environment. If you feel as if these factors are against you then do not force yourself to go out for a swim. These factors include too much sun, being too tired, or being sick.
Swimming Tip # 7 - Breathing and Swimming
When you first begin to swim, breathing in a relaxed fashion can seem quite difficult, however do not push yourself too much. This art will come to you gradually. First you need to perfect your swimming skills and then slowly teach yourself how to be relaxed while swimming and breathing. However do not try this on your own!
