Safflower oil is considered an all-rounder cooking oil. It is clear, almost flavorless oil which is made from the seeds of safflowers. It is advisable that you better leave this product alone or learn to make it at home with safer ingredients. In European cooking, safflower oil is a great substitute for saffron and was quite some time, it was even called saffron.
Among healthy cooking oils, safflower oil is considered ideal for cooking tasks that require medium to medium-high heat. This may include sautéing and stir-frying. Normally, if a recipe calls for sesame oil, as many stir-fry recipes do, safflower oil is a health smart substitute and a better choice. Safflower oil is also one of the best healthy cooking oils for baking. This is due to the fact that since it is has a gentle, understated taste, safflower oil lets your other ingredients shine through and makes the dish more healthy and tasty.
