Chicken broth, low sodium, canned

Celery, raw
3 stalk, medium 7-1/2" - 8" long
Okra, raw
1 cup
Onions raw
1 medium 2-1/2" dia
Sweet Green peppers, raw
1 large 2-1/4 per lb, approx 3-3/4" long, 3" dia
Canned tomatoes, no salt added
1 can
Peppers, jalapeno, raw
2 pepper
Wheat flour, white, all-purpose, unenriched
3 tbsp

Preparation method

  1. Dice onions, celery and green peppers. Chop jalapeno and de-seed them.
  2. Now heat olive oil in the bottom of a large sauce pan on medium high.
  3. Saute the onions, bell pepper, and celery until tender.
  4. Add salt, flour and garlic powder. Mix thoroughly until smooth and there are no lumps in the pan.
  5. Add chicken broth and chopped canned tomatoes.
  6. Bring to a soft boil.
  7. Add okra, and jalapeno to the mixture.
  8. Add tabasco to taste.
  9. Lower the heat to low and simmer for two or more hours.
