Low Protein Diet
A low protein diet plan is a diet in which the consumption of protein is reduced by people. These low protein diet plans are often prescribed to those who have kidney or liver diseases and also to those with inherited metabolic disorders, such as PKU and Homocystinuria. These low protein diet foods should only be taken under medical direction. It is usually the case that serious liver and kidney disease cause people to limit salt or sodium intake due to fluid retention or high blood pressure. Low protein diet foods with high sodium content, as an additional feature of the low-protein diet, should be avoided.

Here is the recipe for roasted asparagus. Hope you find it a delight!
Ingredients:
- 1 lb. asparagus
- 1 1/2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt (or 1/4 teaspoon regular table salt)
Directions: First you have to preheat the oven to 425°F. Then you should cut off the woody bottom part of the asparagus spears and discard it. Using a vegetable, peel off the skin on the bottom 2-3 inches of the spears because this keeps the asparagus from being all "stringy". Then you should place the asparagus on foil-lined baking sheet and drizzle with olive oil. Sprinkle a little bit of salt. Using your hands, you can roll the asparagus around until they are evenly coated with oil and salt. You then need to roast for 10-15 minutes, depending on the thickness of your stalks and how tender you like them. They should be tender when pierced with the tip of a knife. The tips of the spears will get very brown but you have to keep an eye on them to prevent burning. They are great plain, but sometimes you can serve them with light vinaigrette if you need something acidic to balance out our meal.

Health Benefits of low protein diet:
The main health benefit of this low protein diet plan is that protein restriction in the diet lessens the protein load on the kidney or liver, which eventually slows down the continued development of disease.
