Don’t Sleep On A Full Stomach
You need to avoid going into bed immediately after your dinner, eat two to three hours before going to bed, as lying down can press your stomach, causing the food to reflux.
Maintain Your Weight
Excessive weight can be very problematic and unhealthy for a host of reasons, including acid reflux. You don’t have to be super skinny or thin – don’t get us wrong. Just try not crossing the line to unhealthy weight! This is because obesity can increase you abdominal pressure which then pushes the food from your stomach into your esophagus!
Let Your Tummy Breath
Constant wearing of fitted clothes such as belt or tummy tuckers can put too much pressure on the abdomen, squeezing the stomach and causing the contents to escape to the esophagus.
Elevate Your Head When You Sleep
Keeping your head elevated, can provide relief from heart burn! This prevents the stomach acids from flowing up the esophagus. You can put pillows under your head to elevate at 45 degrees, so that your chest is higher than your feet.

Opt for lean cuts, seasoned lightly and prepare in less oil. Increase vegetables, legumes and beans in your diet as they have lot of fiber. Even in dairy, opt for low fat or fat free cow’s milk - you can have normal goats milk as it is naturally low in fat.
You need to pay special attention to the cooking methods. Methods such as baking, broiling, grilling, roasting and poaching are ideal methods to avoid lot of fats in your diet. Use extra-virgin olive oil instead of butter or margarine.
