Many people go through a stressful time in their lives when they just do not feel good about themselves. This negative feeling could emerge from many reasons. Work issues, someone from your family passed away (even your pet counts), you are sleep deprived because of your infant, or your children keep you around the clock! In life we can find over a thousand reasons why not to be happy, or feel good! Such is human nature – we tend to count our issues instead of our blessings.
However you need to be pulled out of this ocean of misery! Staying stuck in it is not going to benefit you in any way possible.
We understand that such things are easier said than done, but nonetheless, they still have to be done! One of the most basic ways to feel better about yourself is to look good! Yes, this is absolutely true. If you look good this will automatically make you feel better about yourself. Your confidence rises and that gives you an extra little boost. Who doesn’t like to look good and receive a compliment or two?
It may be difficult at first to actually bring yourself to work on the way you look, especially since you feel like you have no motivation to get ready. You may tell yourself, ‘I don’t have anywhere to go, it’s just a waste of time’ or even ‘get ready with kids? They’ll have me looking like rags in no time’. It doesn’t matter how much truth that statement holds, because you are simply using it as an excuse. What you need to do is perk up yourself, and the best way to do that is to look good! Here are a few tips that will help keep you on track to look good in order to feel good!
There is nothing wrong with spending a bit on clothes that will actually make you happy! Don’t go overboard! You don’t want to fall into the tracks of a shopaholic! If you absolutely love something, be it a piece of garment, shoes or any other accessory, then there is no harm in investing in it. If it is expensive then indulge in it with the understanding that this is the only thing you’ll buy. With that understanding, get it and wear it! You will see you are already feeling better with excitement over the new thing you bought yourself! Not only will you be happy that you got yourself something, but when you wear it you will know that you look good, compliment received or not.
It is important that you take care of your body from the inside as much as the outside! This is because we are what we eat! So it is now time to put down that bucket of ice-cream and packet of chips! We are bringing in a healthy diet! Have lots of fruits and vegetables, use healthy oils like olive oil. Eat in small portions! Make sure you have lots of salads, fresh salads and even fresh juices! Remember, you need those nutrients for your overall bodily functions!
Since our skin is what covers our entire body and take the brunt of all the harsh environmental stress, we need to take extra special care of our skin! Once you start noticing that your skin is blemish free and has started to glow you will have another thing to be proud about and that will bring you inner happiness! Eat fruits and vegetables and keep a healthy diet. Try to refrain from fried food. Also, remember to keep your skin well hydrated by drinking lots of water.
It is the little things that matter! It is important to keep your nails properly cut, shaped and ladies if you like, then why not color them! Never leave them with chipping color. However, it is not just the hands that are important. You need to also take care of your feet! Keep them clean, cut your nails and have them shaped, men or woman! Also men need to remember to shave!
Hair maintenance is very important. Make sure you have them cut properly to a length that is manageable for you. While you’re at it, why not toss in a blow dry? When you have the small stuff properly groomed you will realize that you can look even in the simplest attire!
