Work plays a very vital role in our life, some may love their jobs at the beginning but slowly the work begins to add up, job descriptions may change; as may your working environment. All these factors not only take a toll on your personal lives - but even on your emotional and physical health. Work related stress can keep you up at night and leave you flustered with your friends and family. All this can lead you to feeling overworked, tired, exhausted, unhappy, frustrated and on the whole - dreading work! But don’t let it come to that. When you start your day, try not to start it with a load of work. Take things a little easy, let yourself relax. Given that you may have a deadline and you may be a little late, killing yourself over it will not help you. You need to think rationally. The first step is do one thing at a time, prioritize your work. What is the most important thing to do? Do that first and get rid of any distractions. Close your email notifications, cancel all appointments the insignificant appointments you may have, put your cellphone on silent. You’ll find that when you have no distractions, you are able to work faster. However this takes practice, as those who work get use to multi-tasking. However when you have stressed built up, multi-tasking can turn out to be a disaster!
There is nothing that can be more stressful then a packed schedule! What you really need to do is start simplifying your schedule! Try not to get things done so fast because this will hardly work out for you in the long run! For starters you can simplify your day’s commitment by reducing them to those that are essential and keep time gap in between.
After making some time and prioritizing you work, you will see that you can more time to yourself! Use that time to blow off some steam and just have fun! Whatever your definition of fun is; be it a quiet evening at home or a night out in town - just do it. You could spend your free time playing a sport. Be it basketball, football or even golf!
Stress at work is something that can never be completely eliminated, it can be highly reduced but it will always be there. The smart thing you can do is leave work related stress where it belongs! The work place! Try not carrying it around like work baggage, as you will find this can greatly affect your emotional and personal lives - making you an unhappy, irritable and frustrated.
Having a good night’s sleep is very important; this will help you feel fresher in the morning and therefore more energetic. Sleep ensures that you will be able to work efficiently and increase your productivity!
