Cardio workout pro: It’s a ton of fun even if you’re uncoordinated
Cardio workout con: Certain steps can either be a bit difficult or too quick

If you think you’re ready, then join the party and get ready to see a whole new side of yourself!

Live Classes

A live Zumba® Fitness class can easily be deemed a cardio workout in every sense of the word allowing you to get fitter, faster.

  • Usually, instructors will offer classes lasting between 55 and 60 minutes, depending on their association with the fitness club or dance studio that they are working for
  • The cardio workout consists of a five- to 10-minute warm-up and a five-minute cool-down
  • Halfway through the class, up-beat numbers provide interval training, with exhaustive bursts of dancing interspersed with some moderate activity to allow you to catch your breath
  • New teachers may copy much of the Cardio Party DVD, but with experience, they can branch out into additional musical choices provided to them on the CD and DVDs that come as part of the Zumba Instructor Network.

Fitness Party DVDs

Zumba Fitness combines Latin-inspired and international music with dance steps offering what its website calls a “fitness party”, where participants have so much fun that they often tend to forget that they are burning maximum calories alongside. Based in Hallandale, Florida, Zumba Fitness provides worldwide classes that have attracted more than 12 million participants since their inception in 2001, as well as DVD sets for dancing at home.
