Why Do Yoga?
Observe the wonders as they occur around you. Don’t claim them. Feel the artistry moving through and be silent –Rumi
Yoga is a science that has been practiced for thousands of years, consists of Ancient Theories, observations and principles about the mind and body association and has been getting verification through medicines as well in this contemporary period.
Why Do Yoga # 1
The thrust of yoga, in contrast to the pursuit of your desire as a means to happiness, is aimed at the monumental, life-changing discovery of whom and what you truly are. This is how yoga works, how it makes you feel good. It helps you experience the truth, your truth.
Why Do Yoga # 2
Doing yoga is to understand yourself from the inside out, stay grounded and centered, and connect in a momentous way with the world. Seeing colors, flickering dots that connect all things. The eventual goal of yoga is, however, to help the individual to excel the self and attain enlightenment. As the Bhagavad-Gita says, “A person is said to have achieved yoga, the union with the Self, when the perfectly disciplined mind gets freedom from all desires, and becomes absorbed in the Self alone.”
Why Do Yoga # 3
The simple perspective about yoga many scholars came up with, through all the years and thousands of hours of practicing yoga and meditation since that first exposure, is that yoga makes you feel good. It's relaxing. It's energizing. It's strengthening. You feel better at the end of a session than before you began, and life runs more smoothly when you maintain a consistent discipline than when you don't. Yoga enhances your experience of life.
Why Do Yoga # 4
It changes your perspective. You thereby find yourself spontaneously embracing a larger, more accurate conception of who you are, how life works, and what God is. You start seeing things differently, with less distortion - which results in more peace of mind, better health, more enthusiasm for life, and an ever-growing authentic sense of inner well-being.
Why Do Yoga # 5
Man is a physical, mental and spiritual being; yoga helps promote a balanced development of all the three. Other forms of physical exercises, like aerobics, assure only physical well-being. They have little to do with the development of the spiritual or astral body.
Why Do Yoga # 6
You practice yoga and meditation regularly, this subtle sense of feeling good gradually becomes so pervasive, so natural and genuine, so much a part of you that it carries over into the whole of your life. And in doing so it helps clarify your deepest longings, motivations, and aspirations, thereby restoring optimism, hope, meaning, and purpose to life.
Why Do Yoga # 7
I 'm busy, you're busy, and we’re all busy. Busy is normal to everyone. Yoga can keep us centered through it all and also give us the ability to enjoy the good things that come our way, and gain perspective from the challenges. Yoga takes us out of the roller coaster of our fears and puts us into the direct experience with our lives, revealing our potential. It is up to us to do something about it.
