So you have most of your work out details sorted out; you know what type of work out you want to practice, the daily time durations, how you will intensify the work out as your body becomes accustomed to the initial exercises and so on. The one detail that might have slipped your mind revolves around choosing the best time to work out! Did that sentence catch you by surprise? Yes, there are certain hours during the day that should be taken advantage of because they truly are the best time of day to work out! There’s a catch though, the best time of the day to work out varies from person to person. So while your body clock encourages you to walk or jog in the evening, your fitness buddy might feel amazing after an early morning work out!

There is no concrete evidence to suggest that any one time of the day is the best time to work out. However, it is advised that regardless of whatever time you choose as your work out time, you should be able to maintain that weekly exercise schedule without fail. That is why most experts recommend morning work outs. Apart from the benefits of mental clarity, focus and calm, exercising early in the morning ensures that your work out won’t get sidelined by other jobs or chores during the day! Once you get up in the morning and complete your scheduled work out, you will feel a sense of accomplishment, and will be able to concentrate on your daily chores without feeling tense about squeezing your exercise regimen into your busy schedule!
Morning, Noon or Evening?
Whatever your best time of the day to workout is, there are some guidelines that you need to keep in mind.
Morning: If you opt to exercise in the morning, be sure to spend a little extra time warming up because your body temperature is lower in the morning. Making sure that your muscles are properly prepared for the work out that is to follow will go a long way to prevent muscle cramps, strains and injuries.
Noon: If noon is your best time to work out then remember to work out before you eat, not after!
Evening: Some people may also prefer going to evening fitness classes at their local gym to unwind after a hard day’s work. Whatever the case may be, you will benefit greatly if you find your own, personal, best time of the day to work out!
