The cardio respiratory system consists of the heart, lungs and the circulatory system. These parts are responsible to pump blood and deliver oxygen throughout the body. There are certain exercises that are specifically designed to improve the functioning of the cardio respiratory system. There are many benefits that can be derived from this; you can move faster, it makes you feel more alert, you could burn calories and stamina also improves. Cardio respiratory exercise includes cycling, running, and group aerobics, hiking and fast dancing. Some of these exercises may already be part of your daily routine, but we will be talking about some in detail. One thing in common is that, before you start any of these exercises, you need to warm up! It is suggested that an individual should engage in cardio respiratory exercises for half an hour each day.

Running

Running is an excellent form of exercise, if you want to lose extra weight or burn off calories, running is the perfect solution for it. You could run outdoors or run on a treadmill at home. You can burn up to 300 calories if you run for 30 minutes at 5.2 miles per hour. So if you are worried about gaining extra weight, if you feel out of shape or even if you want to increase your stamina; all you need to do is put on those shoes and start running!

Cycling

Cycling is another excellent cardio exercise; this exercise helps burn down calories, strengthen the legs and improve your stamina. This is one exercise that you could turn in to a fun-filled experience, invite your friends to join you and go out for a bike ride! A good healthy competition would be encouraging and would also give you the health benefits that you want to achieve!

Swimming

Want to beat the heat? Swimming is your answer! This cardio respiratory exercise will keep you cool in this hot summer and also give you health benefits. This is a full body exercised that engages a lot of our muscles; you could burn up to 400 calories if you swim properly for 30 minutes. Since this exercise has a low impact, there are lesser chances of injuries.

Zumba

Elliptical Trainer

As compared to the treadmill, elliptical trainer has lesser impact. The chances of injuries or joint pain are relatively less if you use an elliptical trainer. Elliptical trainer’s machine allows you to change the speed and intensity of the work out according to your needs. This machine gives a whole new experience as it can go both forward and backward! An individual weighing 145-lb can burn up to 300 calories in 30 minutes. 

Jumping Rope

Almost everyone must have engaged in this activity, but most do not know that this childhood activity is actually a very beneficial exercise. It is excellent for any individual who want to burn calories and give their heart some good workin’ out.

Step Aerobics

Step aerobics is a type of aerobics which involves the use of an elevated platform. The height of the step itself can be changed; this exercise gives you extra energy and is also efficient in calorie burning!
