Early Pregnancy Symptoms
One of the most defining and early symptoms of pregnancy happen to be a missed period. While a missed period is among the many sign
s and symptoms of pregnancy, it is very often one common symptom among most women. The signs of pregnancy may vary from one woman to another, and may harbor on the horizon one week down conception for some women and a few weeks down for others. However, understanding and being well-aware of each of the early signs and symptoms of pregnancy is very important, as they could very well be linked to other reasons as well.
Some of the more common pregnancy symptoms are a missed period, tender breasts, nausea, headaches and lower backaches. It is advisable that if you have been sexually active and are experiencing most or any of these symptoms, you should take a pregnancy test just to be on the safe side.
Here are some of the more common earlier signs of pregnancy explained:
Light Spotting of Period
One of the earlier signs of pregnancy which may come into play a week or so after conception is that of light spotting or bleeding as period. Around a week or a few days after conception, the embryo gets implanted into the uterine wall, causing slight bleeding accompanied by cramps in some women.
Delayed or Missed Period
Another very common pregnancy symptom is delayed or missed period, experienced by most women. Ideally, if you are pregnant you technically should be missing your next period. However, a lot of women do tend to bleed during pregnancy, but this bleeding is characterized by a lighter and shorter course of time than that dictated by a normal monthly period.
Since the body undergoes a lot of hormonal changes and supporting another life asks for more nutrition and energy, another sign of pregnancy could be fatigue. A woman can experience the symptoms of fatigue and tiredness as soon as one week or so down conception. However, other reasons for this fatigue could be depression, exhaustion or stress. But, if you are experiencing fatigue along with a missed period, it is always safer to take a pregnancy test.
Swollen or Tender Breasts
Another very common and early pregnancy sign could be a change in the way your breasts feel. A week or two after conception, the breasts may begin to feel sore, tender or swollen when touched, due to hormonal activity the body undergoes during pregnancy.
Headaches and Backaches
Headaches can also be a very common pregnancy symptom along with lower backaches. While headaches are usually caused due to the sudden rush of hormones in the body, lower backaches can be an early sign of pregnancy but may as well persist throughout the course of the journey.
One of the most wearisome aspects and an early sign of pregnancyhappens to be nausea and vomiting, also referred to as ‘morning sickness’, as the notion is the condition lasts from the early hours of the morning till late afternoons. The condition of morning sickness is most common during the first quarter of the pregnancy, while it ceases to exist come the 5th month.
Another pregnancy symptom is a sudden craving of food items. While you may be repulsed at the sight of some foods, you may also develop a strong urge for others. However, these cravings confronted for food may keep varying from one to another almost on impulse, and start off at an early stage but can persist throughout the course of the pregnancy.
Not a very early pregnancy symptom but yet a common one, frequent urination may begin to take a toll around 6-8 weeks down pregnancy. You may feel the need or urge to urinate very often but sometimes it’s just a false alarm and the baby pushing on the uterus!
