The chest muscles are a combination of major and minor pectoralis. The major pectoralis is a muscle that makes more than 50% of the chest; it starts off from the collar bone (in the end of the neck) and moves towards the shoulder; covering the area in between. The main purpose of this muscle is of abduction and flexion; of the shoulder and of the inside rotation of the shoulder. It is basically this muscle upon which most of the chest exercises are focusing upon.
The pectoralis minor simply supports the functions of the pectoralis major; and is in a small triangular size, underneath the pectoralis major. This pectoralis minor are the one, which are pumped up and pops out with the best chest workouts. The chest is composed of quite a large muscle grouping together in your upper body.
This large grouping can handle weights like weighted chest workouts (press and push-ups). Whereas, if you a novice as a body builder 6-8 reps of any 2 chest exercise will be more than enough; after which a day’s rest is prescribed. Your chest workout should be revolving around 2-3 times in a week; with appropriate resting periods. If you want to gain the ultimate chest, your chest workouts tend to grow harder and more powerful, but be sure that you can handle the pain. You chest exercises will now be 3-4 exercises with 12-16 reps. Try to bring fun and excitement in your workouts and keep it coming. For doing so, you can choice different chest exercises for each exercise day.
